summer

We just came in from a walk outside. Kai found a caterpillar to take care of and cliodhna held a dragonfly on her fingertips for the entire ride in her stroller- I love moments like that.
They came in with their pink cheeks,and sweaty heads-smiling. My heart smiles too.
Their dirty feet swinging below the stools they are perched on, shoveling in popcorn. Jay is playing the guitar, we catch each others eye and he gives me that look that says "life is good"
I stop running through my mental list of to do's and remind myself to be present in this moment.
Is there time for baths tonight?
Probably not.
But there sure was time to make memories.
